King of the Mountain: The historic Pomona King of the Mountain this Sunday July 28 in the Noosa hinterland is Australia’s most gruelling mountain race as 100 runners race up Mt Cooroora and down again for the prestigious title. There’s also a free, fun festival with heritage markets, rides, live music, World Thong Throwing Competition, helicopter rides over the mountain and competitions for all ages in Stan Topper Park all day, a Bush Poet’s Breakfast at the Majestic Theatre at 7am ($20), Pomona Palette Exhibition at the Old Railway Station Gallery and the Antiques and Collectibles Fair at Memorial Hall.
